Dirtybird’s J. Phlip charts my new “I Trade My Ass For Drugs” track on Killekill….I’ll let her describe the track..”

2. NEIL LANDSTRUMM – I TRADE MY ASS FOR DRUGS (Killekill Records)

“I’m a huge fan of Neil, and he’s mad cool. I wrote to him on Facebook for a track and he gave it to me right away and sent a bunch of other new thangs. This one has been in nearly all my sets since last November or so. It’s a simple acid track with a big ol’ phatty phat kick. As soon as people feel the sub in that kick they are movin’. A few “uhhh’s” come from the crowd and as the track develops a higher pitched arpeggiated acid-ish riff mimics the acid bassline. It modulates and the energy builds up and down until this unexpected piano riff comes in – so much dopeness. It’s ruff, unpolished, analogue goodness. The track wouldn’t be the same without the male vocal that pops in saying “I trade my ass for drugs”. At one point he says “I feel like I cannot stop”. So dark. So wrong. I love it so much.”
